Meet The Team

Cherie's Favorite Things!

Hail your highness. She’s the Australian Queen of Renovating, renovation royalty through and through yet you won’t find this lovely young lass with a stiff upper lip or any airs and graces about her. They say good things come in small packages yet how can someone so little have a heart so big? This pocket rocket seriously puts the energiser bunny to shame. Whizzing here and there, she somehow manages to camouflage from professional renovator by day to public speaker on stage to mother and mentor to thousands of graduates around the country.

And oh what a sweetie she is. Cherie’s always got her hand in the office lolly jar and is currently on a mission to get our local cafe to stock more cakes with lots and lots of icing on them - her favourite part. This modern day superwoman truly does live life in the fast lane and has only 1 point left on her licence to prove it. She’s become legendary for missing almost every flight she catches and is not ashamed to admit she uses the airport P.A. system as a free marketing service. Proof she is a smart, savvy business woman through and through!

Julie's Favorite Things!

Melbourne-born and bred Julie, has a natural interest in acquiring and selling property, a passion that began at the age of nine when she successfully traded an old Barbie Campervan for a three-storey Le Toy Van Belle Fairy Castle with the girl next door.

This transaction ensured she’d end up living in Sydney, where property values outrank even traffic issues or public transport horror stories as the most popular topic of dinner party conversation. Her Melbournian roots still shine through however, with her love of horse racing & AFL (Carlton).

As a Graduate Support Coach, Julie can truly answer any of the questions they put to her; post-course renovation issues, where are the best parking spots in Balmain, the exact shade of Julia Gillard’s hair in any given week, you name it, she can answer it. Her special subject, however, is how to live with a Gemini partner, something she has first-hand experience of.

With a background as a Real Estate Agent, Marianne is the proud owner of a lifetime’s supply of mugs and pens.  She’s also “stylish and practical”, “compact”, “full of contemporary charm” and  “close to shops and transport”.  These qualities come in handy in her role as a Graduate Support Coach, but she draws the line at being described as “a renovator’s dream”.

Marianne’s dedication and passion has been applied to people and property for many years.  She’s here to support, guide and help make your experience on the renovating path as rewarding and stress free as possible.

Another great love is food – cultivating, cooking, creating and consuming.  She’s always on the lookout for food she’s either never heard of, can’t spell without checking the label, or is difficult to pronounce.  She’s especially proud of her herb garden which at about the size of a dinner plate, is quite large by Inner West standards.  Other down time passions include travel, weekend escapes to the mountains or sea, and being outdoors ‘at one with nature’.

While Hayley is officially the Student Support Manager, providing frontline info and support for all the students, her unofficial role is that of fashion guru. Armed with a wealth of knowledge from trips to some of the world’s great fashion hot spots such as Paris, London and Newtown, Hayley is always so well-dressed she even makes Kate Moss, look like an extra from Kath & Kim.

Hayley is about as local as you can get, growing up in Balmain and living in the inner west, and cites the late, great Greta Garbo as a role model. We hope this doesn’t mean Hayley will one day announce to everyone; ‘’I vant to be alone!” and glide out of everyone’s lives forever, choosing the life of a recluse instead. She’s far too valuable for that.

Rosalyn's Favorite Things

As the company’s accountant, it’s all about numbers for Rosalyn – and we’re talking lots of them. Big numbers, small numbers, numbers with decimal points, numbers without decimal points but would secretly like to have them, numbers that have deep, unresolved issues from childhood, numbers that are divisible by 256… etc.

Of course there are some numbers that Rosalyn feels more of an affinity with than others, such as 4 and 7 (the ages of her two daughters), 2001 (the year she was married), and 2.30 (the time she leaves the office on Wednesdays to take her oldest daughter to swimming lessons). Her favourite number of all? – 2, 427 – the number of minutes per month she spends sitting in Sydney traffic.

Rosalyn’s other love is musicals. She not only enjoys the costumes, songs and dance sequences, but also relishes the opportunity to privately count all the people in the audience.

Pilar's Favorite Things!

As the production guru for RFP, Colombian-born Pilar’s job description involves sweaty sessions dancing the salsa, rumba, merengue and bachata with her childhood sweetheart and husband of seven years (both the same person), as well as throwing back shots of tequila until the room is spinning… hang on, sorry, that’s her list of hobbies.

Pilar's work duties involve the production of all of RFP's product kits, manuals, mailouts, minutes and any other officey things starting with the letter ‘M’. We’re not sure what this is about, but we can’t ask her right now because she’s just up to her arms in another M word – mess!

Carolyn's Favorite Things!

Quick – what’s the best way of reconfiguring your retroactive inter-process variables? Got no idea? Neither have we. But we know who to ask.

Carolyn's role involves managing our RP data members, our hundreds of suppliers in our National Trade Group and anything else that may come up… in fact, she actually wears so many different hats that she’s thinking of taking a course in Millinery 101. Her job description is “doing everything that no-one else wants to do”, (except maybe going to the dentist in someone else’s place).

Her role model is Sara Crewe, the young heroine from A Little Princess, who went from riches to rags then back to riches again. Carolyn is still trying to figure out the riches part.

Queensland-born Leisa is a self-confessed coconut aficionado and will go to great lengths to secure the very best, freshest, juiciest ones. When she can’t find them in Oz, she’ll even have them imported, resorting to sniffing coconut suntan lotion while she’s waiting for them to arrive.

As RFP’s Events Manager, Leisa’s job is to ensure the right things happen in the right order at our workshop events and with as many coconuts involved as possible. She’s also blessed with gorgeous looks and that most coveted commodity of all… good hair, which, as we all know, can even make you Prime Minister.

This beautiful filly is a horse riding pro and can scale big things with her four legged friends in tow although some days it’s a bit harder depending on how many coconuts she’s carrying with her. Perennially popular with everyone, she’s one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and attracts people like coconuts to palm trees. This lass is definitely beautiful on the inside and out!

Jeneane's Favorite Things!

We’re not sure if Jeneane’s official titles of Executive Chef & Nanny are, in fact, official, but we’re going to run with them anyway. As one of Cherie’s younger sisters, her duties involve babysitting Cherie's daughter Milan during business hours and cooking sumptuous meals in the office (so Cherie doesn't forget to eat), which may prompt you to trade in your own sister for a Jeneane-inspired model of your own.

She describes herself as a “complete movie buff” and cites Pretty Woman as one of her favourites (but strictly for the romance, not the pimping and prostitution). She has an ability to create something out of nothing and could easily start her own TV show "How to build a house in a day from leftover cardboard boxes, toilet rolls, toner cartridges and any other piece of office junk you can get your hands on". Her other love is Christmas lights and she’s currently behind a push to extend the Christmas season so that it runs from September through to April.

Susie comes to us from the NSW Police Force, where she worked as a Firearms and Explosive Detection Dog Handler, keeping the public safe from exploding dogs, which, as we all know are a big problem in Australia. After eight years in the force, she was talked into a career change by her older sister, Cherie, and now works 3 days a week, as an Administration Co-ordinator chipping in doing all things admin, and also trying to control the urge to strangle Cherie, which takes most of her energy.

Susie's a keen adventure racer and loves letting off steam, a passion that stemmed directly from healthy bouts of wrestling with Cherie during childhood. She gets down and dirty with high adrenalin activities, motorcycling and hiking interesting places such as Kokoda. She also tells us that she has a new love of ‘The Bar Method’, which we can only assume is the latest extreme drinking sport.

Susie is highly competitive and enjoys demonstrating her superiority by beating her partner in crime at Scrabble, her sporty son at arm-wrestles and her daughter at speed texting. She also loves relinquishing the fact that she is the "younger" sister of the boss.

5 year old Milan, Cherie’s daughter, has without doubt the coolest desk in the entire office. Not many other girls of her age can boast a work space that’s festooned with coloured paper stars, abstract hand-painted artwork, a secret envelope for special important messages and lots and lots of pretty pink glittery things.

With an engagingly theatrical temperament, and sharing her Mum’s love of sweet things, Milan is also living proof of the adage: Look at a person’s desk if you want to know who’s really in charge of the workplace. Milan is already showing promising signs of Acute Renovation Disorder, ensuring an heir to the throne for when Cherie decides to settle down to breed Corgis and have her portrait painted by Rolf Harris.
